Internet speed test
Measure download and upload speed, latency and jitter against this site's own edge server, with random bytes nothing on the path can compress. Nothing is stored.
Press GO. The test takes about 30 seconds: latency first, then download, then upload.

Speed is measured against the edge location that serves this page, so it reflects the path from your browser (and your proxy, if any) to the nearest CDN node rather than to a specific far-away server. Like other speed tests it uses several parallel streams for a fixed time and leaves the first quarter of each phase (connection ramp-up) out of the result. Latency is measured three times: at rest, while downloading and while uploading; a big rise under load (bufferbloat) is what makes calls stutter when the line is busy. Random bytes are used so nothing on the path can compress them. Nothing is stored.
